Quality standards in career development services (Canada)
This paper was prepared in 2010 for the Career Development Services work group of the Forum for Labour Market Ministers. It provides a snapshot of current practice in quality assurance in Canada among government funded career and employment agencies, third party providers contracted by government, and large community based service providers. It also presents an outline of quality assurance systems used in the European Union and in New Zealand. Its recommendations include national sharing of promising practices in Canada, undertaking a study of Canadian public perception and satisfaction with career services, prioritising impact evidence collection in research, promoting a holistic approach to quality assurance in Canada.
