ENGLAND: CAREERS STRATEGY (2017) MAKING THE BEST OF EVERYONE’S SKILLS AND TALENTS
England, the largest home country of the UK, is not a stranger to policy changes for career guidance provision over the past 20 years, some of which have been better or worse for citizens than the precedent!
The most recently launched policy paper ‘Making the best of everyone’s talents and skills’ is a huge improvement on its precedessor. It aims to improve the quality and quantity of career guidance provision and recognises that career guidance has not had the policy status it deserves.
The policy paper has a particular focus on careers education and guidance in schools, acknowledging the importance of school leadership.
