CHANGING PLACES: MID-CAREER REVIEW AND INTERNAL MOBILITY
Why is there a growth in the percentage of older workers in the workforce in your country? New pension requirements? Skills shortages? Removal of age discrimination? All of the above? Other?
Do you have policy responsibility and/or interest for the development and retention of older workers engaged in arduous work (work that requires a lot of effort, difficult to endure over long periods of time, involves a risk for the worker and for others, impacts the health of the worker)?
Changing Places, a report produced for the European Foundation for Living and Working Conditions, presents the policy context, and the policy responses and practices that help extend lifespan participation in the workforce in a sustainable way.
It explores the meaning of career trajectories and transitions; describes retention strategies for those engaged in arduous work; provides examples of national level case studies; and explores the uses and value of mid-career reviews (MCRs).
Finally, it presents a prototype of a Mid-Career Review Tool , entitled Twenty Twenty Mid-Career Review to enable users to obtain a clearer view of their future career needs.
